Hebrew for Culture Club

[edit]

I have changed the article to read that Boy George's shirt "approximately" reads "Culture Club" in Hebrew. Here's why, and I apologize for the detailed explanation of Hebrew grammar, but some editor might be curious why the change. The shirt that Boy George wears in the video reads either "Tarbuti Agudah" (literally, cultural club) or "Tarbut Agudah" (literally, culture club). [I can't make out if there is a yud as the final letter in first word.] Either way, it is not grammatically correct Hebrew. In Hebrew, the adjective follows the noun. For example, you wouldn't say "red house" (adom bayit); you say "bayit adom" (house red) The same principal applies even if the adjective itself is a noun. For example, you wouldn't say "winter day" (khoref yom); you say "yom khoref" (day winter). So, in this case, the word for "culture" ("tarbut") should come after the word for "club," not before it. Regarding what looks like a final letter yod, I believe it's a superscript .נ marking the word תרבות as feminine, copied from the dictionary. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.250.191.34 (talk) 23:06, 21 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure why this was in the article so I removed it

These successions boxes are used in articles for singles which were number-one hits (see : WP:SONGS#Chart performance, charts and succession; e.g. "Bad Romance" or "Bleeding Love"). -- Europe22 (talk) 11:23, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ref Tag

[edit]

I added a Ref Needed tag as only the lists are cited but not any of the text in the main body of the article. Maybe we can find some sources, yes? Thanks.--KbobTalk 02:13, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Totally agree. ;-) -- Europe22 (talk) 10:18, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
