What about the 1998 film?

[edit]

No entry, independant or not, for this movie?

That's under Dr. Dolittle (film). Carlo (talk) 12:33, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Is it really a remake, or an adaptation of the same source? David (talk) 21:48, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Doctordolittle.jpg

[edit]

Image:Doctordolittle.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Pushmi-pullyu spelling?

[edit]

I notice that the spelling of "pushme-pullyu" in this article differs from that in the Doctor Dolittle article here on Wikipedia - as well as from the books themselves. The correct spelling from the books is "pushmi-pullyu". Was it spelled differently in the movie? PMaranci (talk) 00:25, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Loved and hated

[edit]

Reaction to this movie seems extreme in both directions. The critics eviscerated it, and it was nominated for Best Picture. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cfortunato (talkcontribs)

Article needs to be updated

>"As a result, in an upcoming Special Anniversary Blu-ray deluxe box-set release, 20th Century Fox intends to play audio from both Newley's version of the former as well as Harrison's version of the latter against production stills taken at the time of shooting to give the viewer an idea of how the missing footage might have originally appeared."

And did Fox play the audio? Rissa, Guild of Copy Editors (talk) 21:09, 22 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"Racist content"?

[edit]

I read the Doctor Dolittle books as a child. I do not recall any "racist content." However, I was young and it was many years ago. Regardless, a statement like that requires more clarification. What racist content? Racist against which race and in favor of which race? What specifically was said in the books? --BenMcLean (talk) 23:10, 23 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

– Of course, "Dr." and "Doctor" are pronounced the same and have the same meaning. Given the time between the films, having the date in the titles will be much more useful to disambiguate. Similar to Dr. Strange (1978 film) and Doctor Strange (2016 film).— Preceding unsigned comment added by ‎Christiancardenas732 (talkcontribs) 18:19, 12 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
