I don't know how to comment on here and forgive me, it must seem very gauche and ignorant - but this whole section is terribly written and repeatedly inaccurate. Could do with the whole thing being rewritten. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.40.77.174 (talk) 23:09, 30 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Drawing room play article does not present sufficient information to stand on its own. It should be merged into this article. Neelix (talk) 22:46, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That makes sense to me, for one. Any objections?--Wetman (talk) 23:10, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, although one can (if an optimist) see them needing to be split again if fully developed. One caveat is that Drawing room will look very odd in the theatrical categories. Johnbod (talk) 19:15, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It makes sense to me, also. Frankly, if one is looking for Drawing Room Plays and finds it in the theatrical categories, they won't be that put out I shouldn't think. Locuteh (talk) 13:18, 21 January 2009 (GMT)

I disagree, the drawing room of a building is of archtectural relevance, whereas Drawing room play is of theatrical relevance, no connection. brianeric —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.172.214.124 (talk) 19:30, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Also disagree with merge - but Drawing room play section worth keeping. Suggest merge that instead with Comedy of manners Shannock9 (talk) 13:34, 16 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As noted above, "the drawing room of a building is of architectural relevance, whereas drawing room play is of theatrical relevance", so all the information regarding "drawing room play" in drawing room should be merged into drawing room play, and in drawing room the whole section for "drawing room play" should be deleted and replaced with an entry in See Also to drawing room play. Withdrawing Room

[edit]

So what's the difference between a Drawing Room and a Withdrawing Room? Anything? The Withdrawing Room at Croome is quite different to the usual concept: http://croomewithdrawingroom.wordpress.com/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.24.7.220 (talk) 09:10, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That appears to be an art installation, not a conventional living space; although the work may have been set up in what had been a [with]drawing room in the Croome house, the artist evidently has appropriated the conventional term to make an unconventional point, so the art installation is not at all like the furnishings of a conventional drawing room. In that particular instance "withdrawing room" means something different – quite different – from the use of the term in this article. In conventional use, a withdrawing room is the same as a drawing room, but the artist has used the term differently in Croome.--Jim10701 (talk) 16:48, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
