Flipped photograph

[edit]

The photograph of Denby as a USMC sergeant has been flipped left-to-right. Could someone fix that? Jhobson1 (talk) 22:22, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good catch. It's backwards in the original. I've seen this before in LoC images. I think it happens when the date and negative number have been scratched in the emulsion on the back of a glass plate. Whoever scanned it didn't realize that the writing will be flipped when viewed correctly from the front. I don't know how to fix images hosted at WM commons. It took a while, but I figured it out and fixed it. Kendall-K1 (talk) 01:47, 5 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Harding at fault for Teapot Dome?

[edit]

@Wehwalt: You're the Harding expert. We've had a "citation needed" on this statement for several months regarding Teapot Dome: "however, it is apparent that President Harding did not have a role in the wrongdoing." Can we say this? Should I take it out, say something else, or leave it and add a citation? Kendall-K1 (talk) 03:36, 5 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I might say "active" or "conspiratorial" before "role" and add a cite from the Harding article. If you don't feel that phrasing supports the cite, I would adapt phrasing from the Harding article.--Wehwalt (talk) 07:11, 5 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Denby Motor Truck

[edit]

Denby Motor Truck was established in 1914 by Detroit attorney Edwin Denby and several former employees of Federal Motor Truck, to produce trucks of varying sizes. In 1915, Denby bought the former assembly plant of defunct Briggs-Detroiter at 475 Holbrook Avenue, Detroit, Mi. Denby Motor Truck successfully produced trucks at the Holbrook Avenue location until its failure in 1930. [1] [2] TheChiefDC (talk) 20:10, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
