ragged rags?
[edit]She is usually dressed in ragged...rags?
And by the way, it's not true. It's actually a rather nice, floral-pattern dress. It's just that she wears the same dress in every single skit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.0.220.154 (talk) 20:36, 19 December 2013 (UTC)
Misleading narrative
[edit]The problem is, Eunice is a character in three separate, if related, stories. One--the ongoing series of "The Family" sketches on The Carol Burnett Show. Two, the TV-movie "Eunice". Three, making guest appearances on "Mama's Family". Here's why it's a problem: the character and situation of Eunice is similar, but not the same, in all three. Hence you cannot simply speak about "Eunice" without indicating which Eunice you are talking about.
This article sounds as if it was written by someone who is primarily familiar with Eunice from her occasional appearances on Mama's Family, which receive the bulk of the commentary. That strikes me as inappropriate, especially given that Mama's Family is at most an epilogue to The Family. If Eunice had only been a character appearing five times on Mama's Family, nobody would remember her today. It was The Family that made her famous.
In The Family, Eunice, selfish and borderline hysterical as she was, was "More sinned against than sinning" and we usually felt sorry for her and took her side. Thelma was the really nasty one. In Mama's Family Thelma was re-written as a heroine and Eunice became more of a caricature and more destructive.
The article should be re-written to make clear which of Eunice's various incarnations is being discussed, and how each differs from the others. In my opinion it should focus primarily on the "Family" sketches, of which she was the star, not on "Mama's Family", on which she was an occasional extra. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.0.220.154 (talk) 20:45, 19 December 2013 (UTC)
