Explanation of title

[edit]

The article could be improved by explaining, if possible and with appropriate sourcing, why the title of the documentary uses "11/9", particularly in view of the fact that the 2018 U.S. midterm elections will be held 11/6, not 11/9. Robert K S (talk) 22:05, 9 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Moore said in an interview with Colbert on The Late Show that it refers to the date Donald Jr was declared President. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.7.127.125 (talkcontribs) 05:38, August 12, 2018 (UTC)
Robert K S, I added a "Title" section explaining this documentary's title. The film will premiere in a week. Hope you can watchlist this article and contribute to any discussions that result from the coverage. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 17:59, 30 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Moore, if anything, actually passed over some of the strange coincidences surrounding this date of 9 November. When "9/11" happened, it was pointed out that this shorthand only makes sense in American English, where it is still even now customary to give the month ahead of the day in the month (dd/mm order). In every other nation on the planet, 9/11 would be read as 9 November, not 11 September. (And we would do well to reflect on this: that the terrorists who staged 9/11 chose the date for the beginning of the Long Emergency for all its double meanings, none of which are intelligible outside of American English....) At the time, in 2001, the cited example of this misunderstanding was that in Germany, 9/11 (in November) is memorialised as the date of Kristallnacht in 1938, the night of broken glass, when the Nazi pogrom burned through Germany. It was also on a 9/11, in 1923, that Hitler staged the Beer Hall Putsch, his failed coup d'etat against Bavaria. But today, 9/11 is celebrated in Germany as the date of the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. So there we have three dates in succession, three Ninths of November, in 1923, in 1938 and in 1989, that are significant in German history and for fascism in particular, for its genesis (1923), its crescendo (1938) and the final denouement of that war (1989) as Germany was reunified. And now, it is also the date that Donald Trump came to power in the USA..... 64.231.90.157 (talk) 14:55, 10 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Box office

[edit]

Looking at the follow-up coverage, this article could use more box office coverage to summarize in retrospect the performance and to also mention the performance in the lead section. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 14:03, 15 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
