The prose for this article is impenetrable. It needs to be heavily edited. There are also lots of syntax mistakes like a lot of missing commas. At the same time I have a feeling the author wouldn't need so many commas if they could just simplify what the heck they're writing. Lordgilman (talk) 01:45, 30 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. I think the lede should be something like this...:
The gaps of the Allegheny are three water gaps in the Allegheny Front in west-central Pennsylvania, namely the Blair Gap, the Kittanning Gap, and the gap of Kittanning Run. Before the roadbuilding of the 1930s the water gaps were the only practical routes in Pennsylvania linking the Susquehanna basin to the east and the Allegheny Plateau to the west, the nearest alternative routes being the Cumberland Narrows to the south and the Delaware Water Gap to the north.
...but that may be factually inaccurate. My only knowledge of the topic comes from reading this article, so any inaccuracies in the preceding can be blamed on the current confusing prose and unhelpful illustrations. jnestorius(talk) 11:29, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
