From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Giv'at Ze'ev (גבעת זאב) is an Israeli city in the north of Jerusalem. According to the Israel Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), at the end of 2003 the city had a total population of 12,000.

Requested move

[edit]

This should be turned into Givat Ze'ev, not Giv'at Ze'ev. The first ' is totally useless. It doesn't affect pronunciation, confuses the reader and has no purpose at all. Google gives: "737 for Giv'at Ze'ev" and "25,500 for Givat Ze'ev". Seems clear. "Giv'at Ze'ev" is nonsense, the only sensible title is Givat Ze'ev. --Daniel575 22:55, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Both renditions of the rayin are used on WP. TewfikTalk 17:48, 29 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Spelling

[edit]

Both Givat Ze'ev, and Giv'at Ze'ev are legitimate spellings. --TiberiasTiberias (talk) 10:07, 17 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone with enough edit credit please make a minor change in the "Location" section? It currently reads "the town is patrolled by Mishmeret Ha'gvul" - it should read "he town is patrolled by Mishmar Ha'gvul" Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dkohen (talkcontribs) 08:41, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It is not appropriate for you to include the passage shown below for the entry about the Givat Ze’ev community in Israel. It is political and not objective. You do not add such statements about locations in other countries around the world and you are not evenhanded. It is inflammatory and encourages terrorism. Please remove it and other such statements from other wikipedia pages about Israel. ———

The international community considers Israeli settlements in the West Bank illegal under international law,[3] but the Israeli and US governments dispute this. 2603:7000:3B40:DB00:DC14:2D5F:9CD2:3758 (talk) 02:21, 2 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit extended-protected}} template. Jack Frost (talk) 16:35, 2 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
