Generalization: OR?
[edit]I could not find any evidence that the generalization given in the article is used anywhere. The generalization given here is not the only one possible; another approach is to take a weighted sum of the arithmetic and geometric means, which is pursued in at least one published paper.[1]. Thus, the definition given here appears to amount to Wikipedia:original research. Unless references are forthcoming, I'll remove this. --Lambiam 09:55, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
