I grew up as a Catholic . I never knew they were called 'Holy cards' . They were sort of devotional or novena material. They were just part of the 'Catholic culture'.--Jondel 23:59, 2 Aug 2004 (UTC)

I was never a Roman Catholic, but I find them intriguing; they seem to be the last place where the traditional attributes of the saints in art --- something everybody used to know, a part of medieval pop culture --- can still be found. Smerdis of Tlön 01:53, 3 Aug 2004 (UTC)
Hmm, in Protestant/Evangelical circles, prayer cards are generally photographs of missionary families with their contact information and maybe a short paragraph about what their doing and/or a Bible verse. - Froese 01:30, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have redirected the term Mass card here as it seems appropriate. It is a previously red-linked term commonly used in parts of Catholic Ireland as far as I'm aware - although I'm not entirely sure as to its worldwide use. --➨♀♂Candlewicke ST # :) 20:15, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

It should here be known that something of such is present in Buddhism. Zazaban 04:03, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
