[edit]

The Illinois Eye-Bank no longer exists. In 2015, a network of eye banks - including the Illinois Eye-Bank - became known as Eversight, all working together as a unified operation to deliver the highest quality services to surgeons and their patients. More information about Eversight's history can be found here.

Illinois is one of Eversight's key service areas, along with Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Connecticut and South Korea. Eversight works with Lions, volunteers, civic and philanthropic partners and so many others to restore sight and prevent blindness in these communities. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:40f:680:c940:9dd5:86a4:d423:9f35 (talk) 15:23, February 23, 2022 (UTC)

Does This Exist Or Not?

[edit]

Reviewing the previous request for edit and it's not clear what's happening here. Per this link - https://eyehealthillinois.org/announcement/illinois-eye-bank/ - the change requested is in reference to something that happened in 1985, well before the creation of Wikipedia. So has anything changed since the creation of this article, or is the assertion that this article shouldn't have existed in the first place.

If the requester with COI can share links relevant to clearing up this confusion that could be helpful. A quick attempt to research this wasn't conclusive. — Preceding unsigned comment added by WilsonP NYC (talkcontribs) 19:43, 17 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The article in its current form suggests that the Illinois Eye-Bank still operates. In 2015, a network of eye banks - including the Illinois Eye-Bank - became known as Eversight, all working together as a unified operation to deliver the highest quality services to surgeons and their patients.
