Abstraction

[edit]

The definition given relies on an online etymological dictionary and is at odds with the mention of Bergman’s use of colour to represent ‘the human soul’. So to limit it to images “that look like a person or thing” overlooks the representation of abstract concepts. Since almost no references are provided, the article consists of sweeping, unsupported statements and has no authority. Mental image is an article which conveys some of the complexity which should be dealt with here, and points to some of the references that might be used, though even that merely scratches the surface. What does one learn in reading this article? Jamesmcardle(talk) 23:48, 15 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with this -- it seems that this article is trying to describe several different concepts under the same umbrella (e.g. conflating the physical/digital reproduction of images with the concept of a mental image), resulting in a wordy mess. Tag removal

[edit]

I edited this article per the GOCE backlog drive, but I'm not sure if what I have contributed is adequate enough to count towards the drive. I've removed the copy edit tag, but it seems like someone needs to do a top-down rework with the article - finding sources, citing claims, beautification, etc. I find this to be out of the scope of the drive, but please let me know your opinion on the matter of tag removal. (Hope I didn't open a can of worms here!) BigChrisKenney (talk) 05:58, 20 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

More citations

[edit]

I request to find more information for this article, hence creating more citations; The lack of credit is a large problem for articles that need improvement, and it is extremely high for this specific article, I am guessing it just used most of its information from a few articles or one, instead of connecting information or using bits of information and stitching it together, if this article can get more information, there could be a consequence with the low number of citations.
