Pie chart numbers?

[edit]

The numbers given on the pie chart don't seem to match those quoted from Powell's published articles. --Pete Tillman (talk) 21:51, 21 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

According to this source, they do match (though they don't match in the PopSci reference). I'll add the AJC source soon. Jinkinson talk to me 21:57, 21 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Attempting Rewrite

[edit]

This dude looks pretty important yet his page is rather weak. I'm going to take a stab at rewriting it during the month of February. I'm setting up a sandbox for it. John.Farquhar (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 04:49, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The rewrite is complete. Now, back to your regularly scheduled programming. John.Farquhar (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 16:09, 12 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict with CSI

[edit]

There is some misleading information in the discussion of Powell’s resignation from the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry. According to that section, Powell complained in his resignation letter that a Skeptical Inquirer article about scientific misconduct, criminal history, and biblical literalism mission of various authors of the Sodom & Gomorrah paper ‘“ violates nearly every tenet of proper skepticism" as defined by CSICOP and CSI, citing CSI-co-founder and executive council member Ray Hyman.’ It should be made clear that Ray Hyman has never written about or commented on this case. For context, it should also be pointed out that another prominent CSI fellow and executive council member, David Morrison, has commented on the case and agrees with the author of the SI article that the Sodom & Gomorrah authors’ histories and agendas are a scientific integrity problem. Two other prominent critics of the Sodom & Gomorrah authors are Clark Chapman and Alan Harris. Chapman & Harris both became CSI Fellows this year. 12.19.97.131 (talk) 13:16, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
