Image copyright problem with File:Remembrance Sunday.jpg[edit]

2nd march on this page *is* by Beethoven.[edit]

Three marches are mentioned on this page, labelled "Beethoven Funeral March no. 1", "... no. 2", and "... no. 3". Notes say that all have been misattributed to Beethoven, but that all are by Walch.

However, no. 2 is in fact by Beethoven. It is the funeral march from his piano sonata no. 12 in A-flat major, Op. 26, although it has been shifted up a whole-tone from its original key of A-flat minor into B-flat minor.

I'm wondering whether the note should be altered to correct this, or whether the entry in the list for the second march should be removed altogether because it's not by Walch, and presumably this list is concerned only with music that is by Walch.

I'll think about how to handle this and may come back later. If anyone knows how best to handle it, though, feel free to correct this in the way you think best.M.J.E. (talk) 18:05, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
