Delete. Doesn't seem appropriate for the page. Something else about his impact would be nice, though. Isoxyl 20:17, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Random

[edit]

From the article page was this quote

Also known for a lot of other things
Steakley spent time at a bar called Mimi's, on Greenville Avenue in Dallas. The bar, which makes an appearance in his novel Vampires, was demolished and replaced with an Office Depot in 1996.

If there is some way to incorporate these comments into the article, please do. But I was at a loss. Isoxyl 20:17, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Deep Ellum

[edit]

While finding references to source and expand this article, I came across this 1992 article from The Dallas Morning News about the early-1990s revitalization of Deep Ellum that says, in part, "One of the penthouses with a terrace and wraparound windows for a 360-degree view is soon to be the home of mystery writer John Steakley." A motivated editor could make this quite an interesting article if they can expand on Steakley's life and work. - Dravecky (talk) 06:15, 28 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
