Illegitimate issue?

The Earl may have had an illegitimate daughter, one Eleanor Nottingham (b. 1394, m. 1416 Simon Cheney, b. 1388). She is in any number of Internet genealogical tables for Cheney/Chaney/Chesney, and the usual source given is _Le Fief de Quesneto_, by R.W.L. Chesney. I can't think of any other explanation. For an ambitious fellow, marrying an earl's daughter, albeit illegitimate, could have nevertheless improved his standing and opportunities. 24.94.44.253 (talk) 20:00, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
