WP:Neutral says "Balance: Neutrality assigns weight to viewpoints in proportion to their prominence." Similarly, WP:BETTER says, " Do not put undue weight into one part of an article at the cost of other parts." WP:UNDUE says: "An article should not give undue weight to any aspects of the subject but should strive to treat each aspect with a weight appropriate to its significance to the subject. For example, discussion of isolated events, criticisms, or news reports about a subject may be verifiable and neutral, but still be disproportionate to their overall significance to the article topic. ... Note that undue weight can be given in several ways, including, but not limited to, depth of detail, quantity of text, prominence of placement, and juxtaposition of statements."

Sturgis was a librettist. That is the basis of his notability. There is already enough information in this article about his youthful sporting endeavors. To add a separate section simply *again* listing the sports activities that have just been discussed above is redundant and throws the article out of balance. Please revert this article to the last good version by User:Tim riley. -- Ssilvers (talk) 17:34, 9 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with Ss. The subject of his earlier sporting interests has already been explained and further elaboration on this is not necessary. He was known as a librettist and his sporting endeavours make up a small part of his life it appears. The article was at its best with Tim Riley's last version. -- Cassianto (talk) 18:08, 9 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I also agree with Ss, Sturgis is remembered today as a librettist; his sporting prowess is already satisfactorily covered. Please leave the balance of the article as it was with Tim Riley's last edit. Jack1956 (talk) 13:38, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
User:Daemonic Kangaroo asks "What's wrong with you guys: why are you so aggressive?" I hope I am not that (and I know Ssilvers, Cassianto and Jack1956 most certainly aren't) but IMO Sturgis is not now remembered for his achievements at footer, and a single mention of each of his soccer achievements is surely plenty. Reiterating them in a separate section is, I believe, overkill. Tim riley (talk) 19:37, 12 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
