I'll take this one. Might give the initial remarks in a few days. DoctorWhoFan91 (talk) 09:52, 4 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Any section I do not mention are fine. (or I made some minor changes to them)

  • "odd fit": should probably be quoted, not in wikivoice
  • " Canyon Kid's Corner endured": strange choice of words for something that went on to air for 32 years
  • "this service was not carried": station, not service
  • Also, seems strange to jump from 1985 to 1998, and then jump back for KCAN; consider moving something around
    • I removed the KCAN header to integrate these items chronologically.
  • I assume there is nothing to be added in the decade between 2003 and 2013?
    • Definitely suffered from a bit less coverage. Sioux City only had two major TV news operations (the third was KMEG, which didn't make much of a dent in ratings when it revived news in 1999), and I don't think the ratings have budged much since KTIV moved past in the early '80s.
  • References are reliable and fine, image would be good, but as I can see from the talk page, not available

Spot-check

[edit]

Checking every 8th ref in general

  • Ref-3: Last month ... channel 36
  • Ref-10: longest running children's show in the country
  • Ref-17: new "tall tower", being shared also by channel 4, KTIV television
  • Ref-24: abc for Sioux City and Sioux Falls
  • Ref-34: Albion ... would change to channel 18
  • Ref-41: KTIV will manage, promote and sell ... advertising for KXWB
  • Ref-49: 5 pm broadcast, which premiers on Feb 1
  • Ref-59: Current DTV Channel Tentative Channel Designation ... 30 9

Sammi Brie, the article only has these 4.5 minor-ish issues. Ping me when you are done. DoctorWhoFan91 (talk) 13:02, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Did you know nomination

Improved to Good Article status by Sammi Brie (talk). Number of QPQs required: 1. Nominator has 730 past nominations.

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
QPQ: Done.

Overall: The article shows no signs of copyright violations or anything, it's also long enough and was recently promoted to GA, and I personally find the hook pretty interesting (especially the children's show part). My only thing to note is that reference 29 only seems to verify the fact Canyon Kid's Corner was a weekly show, and not anything about the station's closure. So I copied reference 10 to have another usage in that paragraph to try and avoid any verification issues. That's all. Other than that, I think this should be good to go. λ NegativeMP1 01:03, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
