[edit]The official symbol for this (both mouse and human) is Kit. (Well, technically Kit and KIT). The title should be KIT, I think. Mary Mangan (talk) 03:15, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
- I support the proposed move. --Arcadian (talk) 16:56, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
- I also support. Kit is both the 'offical' term from the human gene nomenclature committee, as well as by far the most common used term for this gene. Ceolas (talk) 17:40, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
- I agree. Independovirus (talk) 11:54, 26 October 2011 (UTC)
- I'm shocked that this move hasn't happened yet! The 'CD117' designation didn't arise until several years after the discovery of the gene, such that the actual gene is being redirected to its flow cytometry number.Mdonken (talk) 19:52, 17 January 2012 (UTC)

Name
[edit]@Boghog: Should this be moved to the Uniprot name Mast/stem cell growth factor receptor Kit? Iamnotabunny (talk) 19:30, 1 June 2019 (UTC)
- This is a close call. Mast/stem cell growth factor receptor Kit is a bit long for an article title. I lean toward not renaming it. Cheers. Boghog (talk) 19:37, 1 June 2019 (UTC)
