Fair use rationale for Image:KBCW44Cable12.jpg

[edit]

Image:KBCW44Cable12.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Done. I have corrected the rationale (it specified what is now a disambiguation page; the actual article wound up being moved a little later on). --WCQuidditch 14:45, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Meteoric Rise, 1987-1993

[edit]

The reason why I keep adding this section is because it's arguably one of the most important times in the station's history, if not the most important time, because this was its rapid transformation from a UHF station that nobody cared about to a major network affiliate. The named shows are not a random, indiscriminate infodump. They are examples of the three trends that the station was exhibiting at the time: (1) an overall strategy switch from reruns of decades-old crap to newer shows airing in first-run syndication; (2) a conspicuous pursuit of children's programming in the morning and weekday afternoon time slots, matched only by Fox Kids; and (3) a conspicuous pursuit of sci-fi, fantasy, and action-adventure content rather than sitcoms. These trends are critical to understanding the station's history. 98.234.13.133 (talk) 02:29, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Sammi Brie, Nathan Obral, and Wcquidditch: Your take? Mvcg66b3r (talk) 02:53, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I object from a few standpoints. KBHK was already the #2 independent in San Francisco as of 1985. I don't see anything about much of this in the sources of this time—and I'm searching the Chronicle, Variety, and pretty much every publication of import. (I did add one citation about the increasing presence of syndication product in prime time as of January 1993.) We can't make up trends; they need to be discussed in reliable sources.
