Kbid

[edit]

A seemingly increasing number of sources (a few dozen results with an English language Google search) use "Kbid-Kaunos" or "Kaunos-Kbid" to pay due regard for the original Carian language name of the ancient city. That includes Google Books as well and is a higher figure than for some of the article titles we have here. In time we could consider naming this article in the same sense. Expansion / refinement of this Wiki

[edit]

Have found a very trustworthy source about the history of Kaunos by Altan Türe, once archeology student of prof. Bakir Öğün and involved in excavations at Kaunos in 1970.
A great part of his 2011 book was based on the book by prof. Öğün and prof. Işık, issued at the 25 year anniversary of the Kaunos archeology project.
Have adapted and expanded the Dutch wiki page on the subject, using this information and will do the English one accordingly within 2 days from now.
I intend to break up the History paragraph into the sections: Hellenic influences; Second Persian era; Roman era; Byzantine era and fall of Kaunos and will use the orginal text under Ancient Times, where convenient.
If time allows, I will add a section on the main remains at and around the site or postpone that till a later date Maria Jonker (talk) 12:30, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Copyvio

[edit]

I was translating this article for the Portuguese version and found several parts on the introduction copied verbatim from UNESCO World Heritage List. Just bringing this to your attention, because I'm not familiar with the procedure on WP:EN (I mean, I read WP:CP, but I wasn't sure how to post this case manually on the list). Not an amphitheatre

[edit]

It's not an "amphitheater", it's just a theatre. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.246.236.194 (talk) 07:38, 14 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
