Incorrect quote?
[edit]Homer: Florida?! But that's America's wang! Plant Psychiatrist: They prefer "The Sunshine State."
- Didn't he actually say "But that's America's wing"?--SeizureDog 22:19, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
No, I quite clearly remember it as "Wang". Otherwise the joke makes no sense. --88.104.251.80 15:12, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
Removed the alleged reference of the episode title to a film called "Take the Money and Run." Why does it reference that film? Simply because there's some action, then, "run?" Doesn't make it a reference. Same goes for the Steve Miller Band song title. Totally unrelated. Globe199 04:48, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Arizona smells funny
[edit]I think this is a nod to the episode "Barts friend falls in love" where Samantha Stanky is from Phoenix and says that this town smells weird. You know how you smell the same smell for so long, and after a while clean smells bad? Yeah..
Captain Jack
[edit]It makes no sense that the alligator being named Captain Jack is a reference to the Billy Joel song. However, the episode of Leave It to Beaver, where they buy and keep an alligator named Captain Jack does. If this is commonly agreed to (or even better cited in some sort of Simpsons literature) I propose that it be changed. WesUGAdawg (talk) 00:35, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
Courthouse Conundrum
[edit]You'll probably need to see the episode again to know exactly what I'm talking about, but what I'd really like to know is: Is the Courthouse Statue a reference to anything? Ok, she's holding the scales in one hand, she's blindfolded, and otherwise looks like a normal courthouse statue, except that in her left hand (the forward most hand) she is holding a cute lil' puppy by the ears. Other things that might help are that it's called the "Six Toe County Courthouse" and the time is 09:05. Though I doubt that actually will help. Razzzar (talk) 16:29, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

- Lede: Link animated
- Lede: Link sitcom
- Lede: Add "television" between animated and sitcom
- Lede: Only Fox should be linked, not network
- Lede: To calm him down, the Simpson family → To calm him down, Homer and the rest of the Simpson family
- Plot: I don't think "insane" is a word for Wikipedia. Lol. Perhaps change it.
- Yeah it is, Insanity. Theleftorium (talk) 16:40, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
- Plot: The Simpsons → Simpson family
- "The Simpsons" is better here because I use "they" later in the sentence, and it sounds better than "it". Theleftorium (talk) 16:40, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
- Production: 1999–2000 should be 1999–00, as per WP:YEAR
- I'd prefer not, since "2000" starts with "20" and not "19". Theleftorium (talk) 16:40, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
- Production: Link 1999–2000 to the US TV schedule here.
- Production: "The Simpsons producer Ian Maxtone-Graham directed Bader". Show the producer directed him? Haha; lol.
- I don't understand what you mean... Theleftorium (talk) 16:40, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
- Production: #1 should be No. 1, as per WP:POUND
- Production: I'd consider paraphrasing. Too many quotes in production
- I disagree, there's hardly any quotes at all. Theleftorium (talk) 16:40, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
- Release: Only Fox should be linked, not network
- Release: on the box set → in the box set
- References: Ref. 14 — About.com is not a good source. Thus, it should be removed.
- In some cases About.com is not a good source, in this case it is as the article was written by Nancy Basile. Theleftorium (talk) 16:40, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
- External links: TV.com link?
- External links: Categories below should be sorted in alphabetical order please.
Overall; a great article. In good shape, I will be happy to pass as soon as the above concerns are fixed. Thanks, TBrandley 15:51, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the review! :) Theleftorium (talk) 16:40, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
- Okay; looks good. I'll pass the article for GA. TBrandley 16:41, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
Cool Hand Luke
[edit]The chain gang scenes, especially the gang boss with the whip, are a reference to the film Cool Hand Luke in which the titular character works in a chain gang in Florida. The plot summary does not mention this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.255.64.245 (talk) 23:09, 22 August 2012 (UTC)
