What about her suffering from an eating disorder? Or is that all speculation? I ask.137.73.160.86 21:31, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Boyle became a known actress for Twin Peaks, but the article says she got her "big break" in "The Practice?" What does that mean? Steve-O

I'm editing this to fix that; obviously this article was written by someone who had relatively little knowledge of Ms. Boyle's career. Daydream believer2 06:04, 15 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I can understand that some people might be excited by the 'anal bleaching article'[1], however this doesn't change the fact that there is no room for a gossip of this kind in an ecyclopedia. Also the existence of a source doesn't automaticaly imply the necessity to include it's content here. I would suggest those continualy reverting this issue to concentrate their energies on something more usefull. Jurohi 01:56, 22 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In my opinion, the rumour regarding Flynn Boyle is notable and worthy of mentioning in the article. There are many mentions of it on the web (Googling for "lara flynn boyle" "anal bleaching" gives 672 hits, "lara flynn boyle" "anus bleaching" - 581, "lara flynn boyle" "anus bleached" - 1,520). Compare the rumour to that of the Richard Gere 'gerbil story', which (despite being completely false) gets a mention in his article. The anal bleaching comment has an actual, verified source and unlike the example above is more than just a piece of netlore.
I will re-word the sentence in question in order to make it clear that Flynn Boyle has neither confirmed, nor denied the reports - but I would kindly ask you to read Wikipedia:Civility, as your comments strike me as rather confrontational. --Kurt Shaped Box 00:32, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Aparently you missed the point: I am not questioning whether the fact is true or not, ie it may be true, but still I believe it is not conform with Wikipedia philosophy. See Category:Living people. Jurohi 00:08, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bad Plastic Surgery

[edit]

Sometime between MEN IN BLACK 2 (2002) and LIFE IS HOT IN CRACKTOWN (2009) LFB had some unfortunate plastic surgery to her face (evidently to her mouth and cheeks), with the effect of giving her a conspicuous and permanent frown and an unattractive squint. She had been stunning and now she was almost frightening. This got a lot of ink at the time and her career took a nose-dive, and her screen roles not only dwindled but changed markedly. Somehow, this watershed event in her career is not mentioned ... and it ought to discussed in some detail. Sussmanbern (talk) 08:46, 28 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Odd statement without source

[edit]

Someone thinks that this is suitable for inclusion:

Whilst it is marginally preferable to the previous version—which referred to her anus—there is still no source for such a statement: I have therefore moved it here just on the off-chance that someone might come up with a source (because you never know). where'd she grow up?

[edit]

Inner city working-class Chicago? What happened to the (substantial) amount of her childhood spent in relatively-rural Wisconsin more than a hundred miles from Chicago's city limits...? 69.219.146.25 03:21, 18 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Needing Photo

[edit]

this article needs a photo of the actress. Does anybody have a non-copyrighted photo (probably from cover of a magazine)?--Pejman47 18:46, 19 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The current photo is from the Vanity Fair photoshoot, but a scan of the actual photo I won in an auction. I am not quite sure of the legalities with it, which is why I left it unsure, but hopefully it will be alright.--Lightingale 19:05, 23 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

So, why exactly was the image removed with no explanation by a person no longer a member? Just wondering. Thank you.

Lara is not pronounced Laura

Needs a new picture, definitely

[edit]

The current one is old, bad quality, and serves no justice to her beauty —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.199.249.160 (talk) 05:40, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree with that. This pic shows her beauty quite well. At least if comparing what's left of it nowadays. I just saw the Law & Order episode which was mentioned in the article, and she looked awful. Almost didn't recognize her. Maybe a newer photo could be there to show how she looks today. 85.217.15.47 (talk) 03:43, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

¶ On a related note, I don't see a comment about her plastic surgery, which definitely damaged her looks. Over the years her looks changed dramatically: I think someone would have trouble identifying her in Poltergeist-3 and as the same person in Men in Black-2, but then came the plastic surgery and her appearance in Life is Hot in Cracktown was a real shocker. Sussmanbern (talk) 05:27, 6 February 2012 (UTC) ¶ Seven years after that comment, still no mention of her plastic surgery nor the effect on her career. Sussmanbern (talk) 07:07, 10 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Her appearance has dramatically altered. She is virtually unrecognizable now. Sadly, she's now one of the archetypical examples of horrendous plastic surgery. All the more strange in that she's not that old, and most other celebrities who have done this to themselves did so after 50 or even later. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 169.252.4.21 (talk) 02:32, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Declared mentally retarded?

[edit]

You're an idiot. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.191.119.40 (talk) 08:12, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

By her own account LFB is color-blind, dyslexic, and near-sighted. Color-blindness is less common in women than men. Sussmanbern (talk) 08:40, 28 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

in television

[edit]

according to the IMDB, she was in two episoedes of alley Mcbill.. can you fix it?

Change in photo

[edit]

This has been brought up before but the photo needs to be changed. It is nearly 30 years old and is being done to avoid her current looks. It’s dishonest to have that as the picture. IEditThingsForYou (talk) 21:54, 20 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
