Addition of Content

[edit]

Hi! I have developed this article from a stub to a lengthier article. Please feel free to review what I've added and provide feedback, as I am new to writing on Wikipedia. My additions are organized into the outline visible in the Contents of the page. - Spirit LG 10/7/2021 3:08 PM

Hi! I wrote this as a college student. Please provide feedback and improvements.--Spirit LG (talk) 16:10, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I made a few edits to this article as a part of a peer review assignment for the same class. Most of my edits are just sentence-level rephrasing of ideas. I also fixed a couple of typos. I did add a little more information in the taxonomy and diet sections, as well as created a new ecology section. I am concerned about a couple of missing citations. Overall, I think this is a pretty solid article.Tulipsareverypretty (talk) 21:43, 14 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I enjoyed the organization of the "Social Behavior" section, as it was very cohesive and well-structured. In terms of other organizational aspects, I added a "Conservation" section, made the reproductive section its own section (separate from the diet section), made "polyploidy" into its own section, and reorganized some other content (ie. habitat, diet) by moving it either up or down on the page. I also made some spelling/grammar edits and changed some of the sentence structure. Overall, it was a very detailed page, especially the behavior category. Hi! I made edits to the article including moving the “diet” and “reproduction and life cycle” sections under the “behavior” heading as they were related to the behavior of the lizard. I also renamed the “social behavior” heading to “behavior” since some aspects of the lizard's behavior are more general. Finally, I made changes to sentence structure/grammar throughout the article in the taxonomy, habitat and distribution, and behavior/reproduction and life cycle headings to clarify points made in the article. Distress Calls

[edit]

Although I really enjoyed reading the “distress Calls” subsection, I found the characteristics of these distress calls to be notably interesting. Therefore, I decided to add a small section with an additional website at the bottom of this subsection.

I added the following at the end of this subsection: "While these distress calls can serve many advantageous purposes for the weeping lizard, there is evidence that the species Liolaemus lemniscatus will eavesdrop of these distress calls. This ability allows the Liolaemus lemniscatus to better escape its weeping lizard predator because the distress calls can serve as information of predation risk to the prey of weeping lizards. Therefore, these distress calls might negatively impact the weeping lizards’ ability to capture prey."[1]

Some Overall Thoughts

[edit]

I thought that this article was well written overall. I thought that the addition of an image right next to the detailed description of the lizard gave life to the description of the lizard. Overall, the organization of this article was really good. I liked the way that there was an ecology section that contained a plethora of minor subsections. Additionally, this article had numerous references that were easy to find. In the reproduction section, although the details about the egg-laying behaviors of the females was succinct and well-written, I felt like this section was missing reproductive information about the males. For example, it could be interesting to talk about how the females choose male mates and/or how the males choose female mates. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sarah-Jayne Mabee (talkcontribs) 16:08, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ecology Subsections

[edit]

I renamed and reorganized some header sections but left all the subsections intact as I thought they were very thorough. I made a few subsections into main sections (diet, habitat, reproduction and life cycle). I also found the word choice a few places throughout the article to be confusing so I changed them slightly. Overall very good job! ( Quill Quips) 18:00, 19 October 21
