The NCAA does not award All-American or All-Region honors. That is done by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). Lisa was a 4-time first team NFCA All-American. I also corrected information about where the 1996 Olympic softball competition was held. It wasn't held in Atlanta. It was held about 120 miles away in Columbus, Georgia. The NFCA uses the site of the 1996 Olympics for the NFCA Lead-Off Classic. Finally, Lisa has been an assistant-coach but never a head coach at UCLA. As accomplished and valuable to UCLA as she is, this difference matters a great deal so we can't just say she is the coach at UCLA. Sue Enquist is the head coach at UCLA as such is credited for all records.

Sue Enquist is no longer the the UCLA softball coach!

Accent in name?

[edit]

On August 1, Damifb (talk · contribs) moved this page to "Lisa Fernández", which I just undid. My searches found no reliable sources indicating that she spells her name with the accent. But if someone can find such a source, I'd be happy to be overruled on this. —David Eppstein 18:48, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
