DC and Washington D.C.

[edit]

D.C. has been listed twice, first as District of Columbia, then by Washington D.C. excessive, no? I don't know how to format Wikipedia articles correctly, if not I'd fix this myself.

accreditation

[edit]

Since someone started to note ABA accreditation with Alabama schools, I went ahead and did ABA accreditation for the whole list. Please correct/update against the ABA website as necessary. Wl219 07:15, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

degree column

[edit]

I've removed the degree column, because it doesn't really make sense. Most, but not all, the schools listed award JD's (ex. Army JAG School is LLM only), so that's a mass of redundant information I think. Many schools award both JD and LLM. A tiny few award the trifecta of JD, LLM, and JSD. I don't think it's particularly notable to list this information for each school since the Law school in the United States article covers this information on a national scale, and individual school articles cover what each school offers. Wl219 09:20, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I suspected the degree column would be deemed unnecessary. I'm simply trying to streamline the list of law schools, so I have no objection to its removal.- thank you Astuishin (talk) 21:53, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Online Law school

[edit]

How should Online Law schools should be included in this list? Seeing as there's another article (abiet incomplete) concerning them. - thank you Astuishin (talk) 05:25, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh my. Needs a lot of work... I think if we can find the info though, the online schools can be included here by the state they've listed for postal mail purposes. Even online schools have to have an address where they can receive money... Wl219 22:53, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Assuming that all online law schools are located in California, should their just be a sub-page, such as a continuation of the current page, or should we expand the number of schools in California on this page.- thank you Astuishin (talk) 15:07, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I guess it's OK to list online law schools in the main list if we can find reliable information about where they are. We already have some of them on the list, and we have other unaccredited schools, so I don't see any problem. Wl219 03:38, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

NYC law schools

[edit]

To the person who emailed me about this, I have replied here. Basically, it is inappropriate to lump all NYC schools into "New York, NY" when in reality their official address is something different. "New York, NY" to the post office means Manhattan only. Wl219 05:16, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK I've taken User:RDU Geog's concerns into account. I think it's a valid concern but frankly I don't see it as a problem. All the schools in NY state are grouped together so anyone looking for NYC schools doesn't have much to scroll through. Manhattan schools, where it's entirely appropriate to use "New York, NY," are now listed as "New York, NY" in conformity with "city, state" format of other schools. The 3 outer borough schools (St. John's, Brooklyn, & CUNY) are listed by actual postal "city, state" with NYC in parenthesis to note that they are within the 5 boroughs of the city. Wl219 02:53, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That's a step forward, but we're listing they're location not sending them a letter. Refining the location of the schools in the outer boroughs makes sense, making the choice to not do so for schools in Manhattan inconsistent, if not baffling. The fact that there is no article New York, New York article (it's a redirect to New York City) only adds to the confusion. Alansohn 05:22, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a good location to find new graduates that might not have their own law firm or a legal esquire internship or apprenticeship I have been searching 12yrs for a lawyer in the US. It seems like there is no legal professional for Appeal Fraud and Slander For Mentally Incompetent. And writing my own opening brief for appeal and being denied due process and the denied freedom of speech in court. Also I was denied the right to defend liberty; asserted in appellate court. And denied reciept of mail and denied habeas corpus for want of Bail CA Penal Code 1490 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.41.255.171 (talk) 04:29, 18 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Western Michigan University in Florida?

[edit]

The table lists Western Michigan University, Thomas M. Cooley Law School, as in Florida. Try Michigan. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.18.197.8 (talk) 19:24, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed schools

[edit]

I'm removing this section entirely. As of January 2024, Pressler/Louisiana never opened, St. John Fisher is vaporware from 2008, and Alaska has gone the 3+3 route with CWRU and Willamette. After the Great Recession and the law school bubble, no one's seriously thinking of opening a new law school, is there? Wl219 (talk) 06:05, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
