Purpose of this article[edit]
Is this article about active duty officers or any officer, active or former? Many on the list appeared to have been retired from the military when they took their civilian posts. This article can easily grow to enormous length if the latter category is used.--Countakeshi 07:19, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
- I agree. I would say that in the US, probably half (just my estimate) of all post WWII cabinet level officials, as well as every US President since Truman (except Clinton) were former officers in the US Military. I think the intent of the article was to list people who led US agencies while on active duty, which applies to several CIA, and NSA directors, as well as many National Security Advisors. --rogerd 01:17, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
