- Kentucky Route 71 was renumbered to Kentucky Route 1803.

- Kentucky Route 264 had a section become part of an extended Kentucky Route 120, most of the remainder was renumbered to Kentucky Route 1835, except for the portion south of Kentucky Route 495, which became part of an extended Kentucky Route 495 (this section is now also part of Kentucky Route 1835).
- Kentucky Route 275 became part of an extended Kentucky Route 317.
- Kentucky Route 471 was renumbered to Kentucky Route 1804. However, in 1990, a section of I-471 was renumbered to the current Kentucky Route 471.
- Later, when I-24 was completed, Kentucky Route 24 was split into three and was renumbered to Kentucky Route 324, Kentucky Route 344, and Kentucky Route 474, while some portions were given to the county. KY 361?
[edit]The current Hardin County map shows Kentucky Route 361 as primary from US 31W Byp. to KY 313 (and KY 1600 beginning at KY 361). The SPRS listing has not yet been updated to include KY 361. --NE2 06:32, 24 November 2014 (UTC) It includes it now.Alexlatham96 (talk) 03:49, 4 June 2019 (UTC)
former highways
[edit]I found an abandoned draft at Draft:List of former state highways in Kentucky which I've redirected to here for now. Maybe useful to someone working this topic. Legacypac (talk) 12:18, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
This page and its subpages need to be redone
[edit]I feel that each subpage should be split and have everything in tables and this one can be a disambiguation page like List of former state routes in Georgia (U.S. state) for example. Anybody else have better ideas? Dylpickle2k (talk) 23:47, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
- This is a little more involved that simply making this page a dab page. Let's look at the navbox for Kentucky highways:
- We seem to have two competing systems of lists, one of which is better laid out than the other. One system has five lists of 1000 highways and is in rough shape. The other system is workable. We have a single list of primary highways and then 15 lists of secondary highways.
- I like the effort that Viridiscalculus put into this a few years ago. –Fredddie™ 01:26, 27 September 2022 (UTC)
- Honestly I'm more worried about the primary highways than secondary highways. It seems like the secondary highway lists are fine the way that they are. I was thinking about the lists of primary routes to have everything in tables instead of just bullets. I'm not really sure what to do about improving this page though. - Ideally, there would be one table with all of the state-numbered highways, but (1) that would be an enormous undertaking and (2) there might be technical limitations loading a page with a table with 3500+ rows. I started working on the big table by working on smaller tables that would eventually be concatenated, but I never came close to making a dent. Creating the listicles was difficult and time consuming, but it was manageable over a few years and not terribly tedious. I felt fulfilled in eliminating a few hundred stubs.
