Why should a list about people who have been murdered qualify for a Biography of Living Person warning?

[edit]

Why does this list about instances of people who have been murdered need to have a warning message that talks about being a Biography of a Living Person? Surely it would be better to have a BLPO warning message instead? After all, what results in people being on this list is that they are the victims of unsolved murders. That makes them dead people, due to the murder event, so while the policy about people notable for a single event could be applied, we are writing about instances of crime, not biographies of people. The fact that people are discussed in the article is a necessary consequence of the murders. But to say they are living people is counter-intuitive. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 10:28, 16 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The victims are dead, but other persons involved in the cases may still be alive. The murders are still relatively recent. Dimadick (talk) 20:01, 16 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
