Article title

[edit]

"Luís, Prince Imperial of Brazil", is a title of pretense and appears to favor the claim of the Vassouras branch of the imperial family over the claim of the Petrópolis branch. What is he called in the sources used in the article? DrKay (talk) 13:54, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As he is called Luís de Orléans e Bragança in Barman, I shall move the page to a suitable translation. DrKay (talk) 20:19, 18 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Possible wrong info

[edit]

>Prince Luís of Orléans-Braganza (26 January 1878 – 26 March 1920), was a claimant to the former throne of the Empire of Brazil.

This is wrong I think, he never got to be the Head of the Family — Preceding unsigned comment added by Galahad1822 (talkcontribs) 22:20, 8 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Article title

[edit]

Luís, unlike his successors, was born during the vigency of the Brazilian monarchy, so I believe the article title should highlight this fact. I suggest "Prince Luiz of Brazil" or "Prince Luiz of Brazil (1878-1920)", highlighting his princely status under the monarchy until 1889. I'd also like to point out that on the very signed photo of him at the article, his name is written "Luiz", not "Luís". In Brazil, both spellings are common for the same name, however, given the name of his second son "Luiz" and that his first-born grandson is also "Luiz", I believe it is the more appropriate name.
