[edit]I have started the article but since I do not have much time now, I will finish it soon. Thanks.--MacedonianBoy (talk) 22:50, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
Invention
[edit]The terms "Macedonist" and "Macedonistics" appear to be inventions formed from the Macedonian words. The references given are not in English, so cannot be viewed as sources for these alleged English words (nor have I been able to find a source other than references to this article). Wikipedia is intended to express existing knowledge and terminology, not as a platform for their invention. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mike Shepherd (talk • contribs) 14:01, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
Dispute
[edit]Ballantyne, when you add a disputed tag on an article, you have the obligation to explain on the article's talk page what is factually inaccurate. But anyway, since there aren't many reliable sources about this topic, I think it'd be better if the content was merged to the article Macedonian language instead. - This article was clearly started by someone more than 13 years who admits is incomplete. The term "Macedonian Studies" refers to a much broader range of studies in history, people, culture and language pertaining to the region of Macedonia. More Specifically this article is about the Macedo-Slavonic dialect. I agree with your suggestion, however I would go further and suggest that it should be merged into an article title "Macedo-Slavonic Language" for greater clarity. - "Macedonian language" is the WP:COMMONNAME (check MOS:MAC). The best option for this article is for it either to be merged or if you want, you can nominate it for deletion through AfD. Since its speedy deletion request was rejected, that's the best option that you have. StephenMacky1 (talk) 13:06, 10 August 2023 (UTC)
- Petar Draganov, the compiler of the "Macedonian-Slavic Collection" (1894), is known in the history of Slavic studies as the founder of Macedonian studies in Russia.[1]
