Description of circumstances of death vague

[edit]

She was healthy enough to continue to perform but died two months after falling from a horse? Something doesn't sound right. And no citations I see.TheDarkOneLives (talk) 03:57, 11 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As mentioned in Maria: Cecilia Bartoli Disc 2 documentary, she was pregnant at the time she died. MultiPoly (talk) 02:21, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Vocal Range

[edit]

The references given for Malibran's extreme high range do not exist. Can this be corrected (i.e. remove "and her extreme range extended from D3 to F6 in altissimo,[9][10]") There are enough myths about this extraordinary singer without Wiki creating its own.RiverStreet (talk) 10:26, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Maria's vocal range was much lower than G3! The role of "Rosita" in "El amor gitano" that her father wrote for her goes all the way down to E3!. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.131.149.64 (talk) 04:13, 4 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Maliban as Othello?

[edit]

According to the article "she sang [...] Otello (both Desdemona and title role)". She sang the title role in Otello? I don't know much about opera, but that doesn't sound very likely. Chuntuk (talk) 09:15, 27 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Vocal Fach

[edit]

Given the extraordinary range of Maria Malibran, that couldn't be described in any term as soprano, mezzosoprano or contralto, I would invite to write "Maria Malibran (24 March 1808 – 23 September 1836) was a singer who commonly sang both contralto and soprano parts". This is my proposal of historical evidence given that in Malibran period there wasn't the term "mezzosoprano" and this stupid (in my opinion) label has been given by Cecilia Bartoli for a sale purpose, not certinly for an historical purpose! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.15.151.41 (talk) 16:57, 18 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
