Emergency!

[edit]

Was there an episode of "Emergency!" filmed here?

At least one that I have seen at some point; might have been one I saw in syndication on the spanish-language channel. I seem to recall the helmet diver in the main viewing tank had his hand caught in a drain or something, and our terrific twosome went down in shirtsleeves and aqualungs and pried him loose. knoodelhed 05:15, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An Emergency episode involved rescue of a workman from the top of the 400+ foot tower. I saw this rerun on MeTV on Oct 14, 2015. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1010:B103:A6BB:6DFB:E221:33F4:EE (talk) 01:20, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Six Flags?

[edit]

I'm reasonably certain that before it closed (presumably before HBJ bought it?), Marineland was owned by Six Flags. In the early 1980s, I auditioned to be part of one of the various bands that roam all their theme parks; the LA auditions were held in the Marineland restaurant (wasn't it called The Star of the Sea originally?) This was quite the surreal experience; my memories of visiting Marineland as a tyke included thinking of that restaurant as the definition of swank.

In the 1980s, it was a bit different. It had apparently been closed for awhile (the park was still in operation), and was now being used as a costume shop/rehearsal space; I remember in particular that the kitchen facilities were in serious disarray. So I got to do my audition in the cleared dining area, surrounded by the disembodied heads of multiple Fred Flintstones, Scooby Doos, and Huckleberry Hounds...--NapoliRoma 04:21, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment

[edit]

This article needs an infobox. It needs to be expanded, though it's unclear how much expansion is possible with a closed facility. It needs at least some citations though, and some of the external links might work for these. Donlammers (talk) 04:17, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's almost a real C-class article now, I think. It still needs a few more citations. For instance, if someone that knows movies and TV better than I could come up with decent refs for all those TV shows that supposedly used the site. For now I am leaving the refimprove tag. Marineland 8 mm home movies

[edit]

I have an 8 mm home movie produced by Vacation Films Hollywood 29, California. Before MLand, LA area, wasn't there a MLand in the Bay area? Or was that Sea World? I'm talking about the '60s. I want to get permission to include it in my home movies that I am putting together on DVDs. COSTCO will not let me use it because of copywrite laws. Carol Rose, 905 Wendell Way, Woodland, CA 95695 I am saying no to the donation because I have already donated. I love Wikipedia!!!!! 71.142.222.0 (talk) 23:06, 24 November 2013 (UTC)Carol Rose[reply]
