Photo
[edit]Just got to say that this is a terrible photo. Doesn't do her justice. Can we get a new photo? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.148.113.210 (talk) 00:34, 7 October 2013 (UTC)
An attempt at an article
[edit]So okay, I've attempted at recreating this article. The page was previously deleted for a general lack of sourcing, but I think there are enough articles out about her now that we can assert notability. At the very least, her being in two notable bands makes a redirect to West Indian Girl inappropriate. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 15:47, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
A poor attempt at an article. This page is not necessary. Do we really need a link for this person when you only have five sentences worth of information, all of which could be placed on another larger page? Sorry, but can we mark this for deletion again? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.105.79.205 (talk) 22:02, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
Birthdate
[edit]Can anyone find a reference with her birth date? For the life of me I can't dig one up, and sites like NINWiki and so on aren't considered reliable. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 14:12, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
- Her official facebook profile gives a date, although for the life of me I can't remember where year was sourced from Sheepdean (talk) 16:20, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
Merge?

The result of the move request was: not moved. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 04:09, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
I have marked this article to be merged with the How to Destroy Angels page, since this page is patently unnecessary (despite what Trent Reznor stans may think). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.112.39.247 (talk) 05:18, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose. This isn't the place to carry out some vendetta you have against Reznor or whatever. Maandig is notable on her own - for being the lead singer of two bands. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 05:29, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
- Support - Note that the consensus in the second AfD was to merge to West Indian Girl, which never happened. But that group is in the past and How to Destroy Angels (band) is current, so that would probably be the better target for the merge. But regardless, I'm in favor of a merge to somewhere because even though I have nothing against her or her husband (I'm a big fan of the latter), she just has not achieved enough notability on her own outside of her bands. --DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 17:00, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
- Comment: So if a person comes to the West Indian Girl article and clicks on Mariqueen Maandig, they would get redirected to the HDTA page. That's misleading. She herself is, I believe, notable for being a musician who was in two bands. It would be like having Paul McCartney redirect to the article on Wings because he was no longer in The Beatles (and assuming no solo career after Wings). — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 17:14, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
- There doesn't have to be a blue link for her name in any article. Information about her could be in either group article. At West Indian Girl it can say she later joined HTDA, and at HTDA it can say she used to be in West Indian Girl. And you have a good point about Paul McCartney, but he achieved notability as his own person above and beyond the bands he was in. Has Mariqueen done the same? --DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 20:05, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
- How is mariqueen not notable? 94.170.118.34 (talk) 01:19, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
- Answer that question yourself by searching for news articles about her, rather than just making assumptions. Except for one or two mentions of her nude modeling, there is nothing available about her as an independently notable subject outside of her two bands or her marriage to Reznor. Therefore she can be mentioned in the two band articles, at Reznor's article, and at articles for all the albums she has appeared on. Beyond that, an article dedicated to her will be as empty as it is now. I have nothing against her by the way. --DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 13:35, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

- Being in only two bands doesn't make you notable? In that case, there's a lot of artist pages that I'm going to have to flag for deletion... 94.170.118.34 (talk) 16:47, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose Being lead vocalist for two notable bands means merging with either band's article would be misleading. She's notable on her own now. —Torchiest talkedits 21:13, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose I agree with the above user. Nebuliser (talk) 06:18, 8 February 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose Whether someone is a Trent Reznor fan or not is irrelevant - Maandig is an artist in her own right and was well known for her work with West Indian Girl, a band completely dissociated from Reznor. Suggest those being dismissive of her relationship with Reznor, learn a little more about the music scene before commenting. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.193.53.64 (talk) 03:54, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Why does this article only talk about someone in relation to their husband? Either they are notable on their own or they're not. Do we not have better sources about their career?
