Question the accuracy of ship purpose

[edit]

This looks like a stealth ship. How is it suitable for "search and rescue", "humanitarian aid" and "control of fishing laws"?? E.g., the helicopter it carries, the NH90, is for battlefield transport, anti-ship, and anti-submarine warfare. 98.210.208.107 (talk) 13:40, 25 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It is not a stealth ship, even though some thought has been put into it to reduce it's radar and sound signatures. It can also carry a combat helicopter, indeed, and thus be deployed in the role of anti-ship (unlikely) and anti-submarine combat (slightly more likely), but it is by no means as capable as the specific combat platforms the Spanish Navy has. It is a glorified OPV, really. Yet, because of it's modular design it can be deployed as a small hospital, it can carry containerized cargo and can host up to 50 or so additional crew for a a short span to be used as an evacuation platform.

This ship is a big multirole OPV .. it has a radar and other sensors (like IR) and can be fitted with aditional modular sensors.. it can carry a helicopter (NH-90, SH-60, SH-3 or Bell-212 ) wich can perform SAR operations.. it has modular design so it can be easily reconfigured to perform a large number of "non-war" tasks or to be a command post, evacuation platform, hospital ship, comunications, etc.. Aparently they can be configured for war too as they can be fitted with Harpoon launchers, mine deployment and tow sonar arrays.. but thats too unlikely as thats the job of the F80 and F100 class ships (and in the near future the F110 class) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.126.221.67 (talk) 10:18, 29 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request its removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.
