Die!namite

[edit]

The link to Die!namite just redirected to an article on Crossover. Should that be removed? CarlSerafino (talk) 10:11, 31 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Is it public domain?

[edit]

Hyju added a public domain category last year.[1] I see forums, wikis, etc. where people just say it is public domain. I also see some sites that say the Mills' version is in the public domain. But why is that? I have found a few places that have the first 8 comics and they all have a copyright notice (page 2). Are there earlier printings out there? The newspaper strip has a notice but it doesn't seem to include the word "copyright" or the (c) symbol;[2] is that malformed? Did the Bell Syndicate fail to renew their copyrights?[3] If this is public domain, we should explain how in the article and cite it. I can't find an explanation online of why it is in the public domain. Rjjiii (talk) 15:27, 21 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

In fact, I didn't find any concrete sources, I checked the Library of Congress website and only the Malibu comic book appears renewed, the first publisher to publish the character seems to have been Malibu in the 90s, Dynamite has also published it and Marvel has also published The Twelve, there is a website created by her nephew and it doesn't mention licensing.Hyju (talk)
