MVA location

[edit]

I don't have a cite right now, but I remember that the Motor Vehicle Administration when it opened up about 1973 was in the mall itself, I think in the space that had been Sears, before moving to the location on the west side of the parking lot. SHJohnson (talk) 00:32, 18 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Lead edits

[edit]

I just removed some trivia from the lead. It might have a place in the body of the article, but the wording was awkward and it was too minor of a detail for a 3-sentence lead. This is what it said before:

The mall was a development of the Mondawmin Corporation, a firm set up in 1952 by James Rouse, with Alexander Brown Griswold holding 45% ownership, Harry Bart and Robert Stack owning 45% and the Moss-Rouse Company owning 10%.[1][2]

I changed it to: The mall was a development of the Mondawmin Corporation, a firm set up in 1952 by James Rouse and Hunter Moss under the Moss-Rouse Company.[3]

The other partners are mentioned by name in the body without their percentage ownership. I'm pasting it here in case someone wants to add it to the body, but I'm leaving it out for now because, personally, I don't think that level of detail is needed. Mistake pointed out in Baltimore Heritage video

[edit]

Pointing out that here it is discussed why the attribution of the origin of the name 'Mondawmin' to Longfellow on Wikipedia is an error https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYZCqb2I3p0 --Middle river exports (talk) 06:44, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
