Absolutely
[edit]Didn't she also have her own UK TV comedy sketch series in the 1990s? Can't remember what it was called. Ben Finn 18:02, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
You're a wacky guy, Ben Finn! It was called The Morwenna Banks Show. :) Also, for accuracy, the program Absolutely ("Absolutely!" in the entry) was just called "Absolutely" with no need for an exclamation mark. --Bulletproofblouse 16:43, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
International fame?
[edit]A bit part in a couple of Sabrina episodes is hardly fame. However, as I'm a rabid fanboi, I'll leave it intact, with a wry wink and a nod. Rogerborg 09:07, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
Red Dwarf
[edit]Wasnt she the lift hostess in Red Dwarf 2 the stasis leak episode? That would put her television debut at 1988 not 1995216.86.96.10 (talk) 01:57, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
Hot or not?

Cornish
[edit]On this radio show she states that she is Cornish.

- The audio is no longer archived there, so there's no record of what exactly she said, in what context or with what emphasis. Despite that, it's now been added as a reference justifying describing her as definitively and primarily "Cornish" in the opening sentence, to the exclusion of any other identity. Anyway, beyond all that, WP:MOSBIO says to note nationality/citizenship in the lead, not ethnic identity - unless there's a good reason. So I'm putting it to British as default. - I can't find a functioning link or download option - not that I want or should have to download it or trawl through it looking for the specific part. Does she specifically say "my ethnicity is Cornish", as your new version has it? Or just more generally and vaguely "Cornish"? Is it said as a statement of identity or in some more casual and jokey context (which seems quite possible given the apparent nature of this show)? Or does she simply refer to being from Cornwall - which is uncontested and already flagged up in this article? We need something much stronger and also something verifiable for this explicit claim about being ethnically Cornish, even out of the lead, especially in a WP:BLP. N-HH talk/edits 20:54, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
- I haven't listened to this particular episode, but Jeremy Hardy Speaks to the Nation is a comedy programme in which all the words spoken are scripted by Jeremy Hardy for their comedy value, so we can't know whether the words she performed represent her own view or not. -- Dr Greg talk 23:50, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
Content removed (possibly by subject of the article)
[edit]I just came across this article, and noted that the previous edits were made by someone claiming to be the subject of the article (User:Azzxx) removed various pieces of personal information about her birth date, early life, and family:[1] Personally, I have no objection to this - my view is if she wants that information out of the article, fair enough. But I'm just noting it here so that other users are aware, and in case they have any opinions on whether that information belongs in the article. Robofish (talk) 00:10, 8 January 2013 (UTC)
Which is odd, considering much of the "private" information removed is still published on David Baddiel's page.Gavinturner (talk) 20:40, 20 January 2013 (UTC)
Absolutely
[edit]I don't know much about the article's subject, but it is written as if she is best known for Peppa Pig, with no mention of Absolutely. Prior references to Absolutely were edited out over time. I surmise that a lot of her earlier TV career is missing, but I'm not the one to restore it. 82.14.18.156 (talk) 17:02, 21 June 2014 (UTC)
- I agree, the suggestion that she is best known for voicing some kids' cartoon is bizarre. She has been a regular in British TV comedy for more than 30 years. There isn't a single standout role for which she is famous, apart perhaps from the little girl in Absolutely. --Ef80 (talk) 21:11, 12 August 2015 (UTC)

Best known for Peppa Pig?
[edit]This is a bizarre assertion. MB has been a prominent comedian and comedy actress for 30 years. To claim that she is best known for voicing some toddlers' TV cartoon character is arguable to put it mildly. If she has any single standout role it is the 'little girl' character in Absolutely, recently reprised. --Ef80 (talk) 20:25, 4 October 2017 (UTC)

Meg and Mog
[edit]Banks is listed as providing the voices for "the witches in Meg and Mog, an animated children's series for CITV (2003)", but she is not listed on IMDb, and the only RS sources I could find referenced this Wikipedia article. I propose removing the entry unless someone can find an appropriate RS. Websurfer2 (talk) 10:32, 7 November 2018 (UTC)
