Image needed

[edit]

It would be great if this article on a paint color could provide an image showing the typical appearance of the applied paint, perhaps within the context of a work of art. Dtkirsch (talk) 21:59, 27 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I was going to add the standard color box shown on many pigment articles, but I can't find a reliable reference for the CMYK/HTML equivalents. Salmanazar (talk) 19:59, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There is an image of painted out Mummy (from Roberson's bought in 1914 by E. W. Forbes) underneath the vertebra at the bottom of the page https://www.harvardartmuseums.org/article/a-pigment-from-the-depths. In addition, Mummy brown has never been definitively identified in a work of art. 1 June 2018

[edit]

I know this is kind of a weird topic for a popular culture section, but should something be added from Ryan North's comic reference to this color? http://www.qwantz.com/index.php?comic=2051 Nosnevel (talk) 05:50, 19 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Categories Suggestion

[edit]

Should this page be added to Category:Organic_pigments? It was organic in the past, and several of the example images are from the era when it would have been made with organic material. Gargargarrick (talk) 06:04, 17 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"Medicinal qualities"

[edit]

The page currently reads "Before "mummy brown" was used as a pigment, Egyptian mummies were known for their medicinal qualities.", were they ever actually known for having said qualities or were they just sold/marketed/etc as such? If not could be changed to "alleged medicinal qualities" 2600:1700:1930:D10:E99A:9995:ADFB:8BD7 (talk) 21:46, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
