A fact from Octopus cyanea appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 14 May 2017 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:

...It's red.
- It can change colour. Mgiganteus1 22:45, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- I was just wondering about that too.
Maybe it could be mentioned in the article.Oh I obviously can't read today, it already is. ARendedWinter 02:14, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

Colour
[edit]Howbe we get a blue picture? --Jammoe (talk) 01:41, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
"Cyanea" actually means blue.--92.118.191.48 (talk) 03:02, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
Is "Cyane's octopus" possible?
[edit]...only barely for someone utterly unaware that it is not named for some person named "Cyane" but is cyan in color. If no such naive reference can be located, could we just drop this jejune assertion?--Wetman (talk) 15:42, 14 May 2017 (UTC)
