Synopses?

[edit]

I think the article would benefit hugely from synopses of each of the 6 films, plus any background on how the films came to be made, and information on production stlyes etc. I'll try and add some info myself, but need help! Gram 16:34, 26 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

controversy? The first film clearly shows the superiority of Western guns and the second film shows that superstition has no place in the modern world. Can anyone provide any newslinks or whatever that actually has somebody decry the series as "controversial" other than some wiki-editor who thinks the series is controversial? Thanks. Last Hero in China

[edit]

Should Last Hero in China be mentioned as part of the series? To the best of my knowledge, it had nothing to do with Tsui Hark's films. Yes, it's a Wong Fei Hung film starring Jet Li and featuring choreography from Yuen Wo Ping, but it's a parody. I like the film, despite it being from Wong Jing, but I don't see it being one of the OUATIC series. If I remember rightly, Jet Li made it after falling out with Tsui Hark (although they worked together again several years later on Once Upon a Time in China and America.) I believe its already listed under Imitators. Thanks Kelvin 101 (talk) 15:33, 24 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
True, but it's described as a spin-off or parody, and they're two different things. For me, a parody is fine, but not a spin-off. Pedantic maybe, but this is meant to be an encyclopaedia. I've removed it for now, as I'd rather it was solely listed under imitators rather than as part of the main series. If Tsui Hark had been involved it'd be fine, but he wasn't.
