I was searching for information on laptop computers produced by Optima, the largest notebook computer manufacturer in Australia. If someone wants to research and write an article about it, that would be nice.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.194.13.101 (talk) 23:23, July 12, 2006 (UTC)‎

Canadian Money

[edit]

Is "And it uses tale of Canadian 1 dollar coin." intended to state that Optima is used on the tail side (reverse) of the Canadian dollar coin? (And I don't know if that's accurate or not.) Tayloj (talk) 22:42, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Writing style

[edit]

Is it me, or does the flowery language towards the end of the last paragraph border on review? It's nicely written, but is it really Wikipedia's place to call a typeface "beautiful" or "playful"? — TheJames 02:47, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

McCAin uses this font

[edit]

John McCain is using this on his campaign logo, and I don't think he'd mind it being used as an example. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.69.118.1 (talk) 23:54, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dentists' business cards

[edit]

Anyone know why this font is common on dentists' & other medical professionals' business cards and office stationery (in the U.S., at least)? Does a particular printer specialize in this market or is this a curious social convention? --D. Monack | talk 05:04, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Origin of Optima

The inspiration of Optima

I had considered adding a picture of the grave that inspired Optima, from Santa Croce basilica in Florence, to the page, but I'm not sure how appropriate that is. No other typeface pages have this. So you get it here in the talk page. superlusertc 2013 September 06, 00:37 (UTC)

  • @Superluser: - yes could be good but are you sure this particular tomb is one of his inspirations? It looks right but in the sketch I can find online he copies down the inscription of a different tomb, which I've pictured. He certainly might have used more than one though - in the picture I have he copies down a Q, which isn't in the complete text he copied. Blythwood (talk) 11:12, 23 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
