new club/old club confusion
[edit]Pacy Ménilles Racing Club (Pacy Ménilles RC) - the current club - is not related to Pacy Vallée-d'Eure Football - the defunct club - which is the target of this redirect. All five of the links to this redirect reference the new club. Pinging @NickK: who created the redirect. Please can we agree to list it for deletion? Cheers, Gricehead (talk) 10:38, 21 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Gricehead: In French system it is hardly ever unrelated. In this case the CFA side Pacy Vallée-d'Eure Football was declared insolvent in 2012, and the new club Pacy Ménilles RC took place of the reserve side of Pacy Vallée-d'Eure Football which played two leagues below the main side in DH (sixth level). Had they been an unrelated club, they would have had to start much lower in a District league. Statistical sources show continued history, local media are saying it was a new depart of the old club who now came back to a national league. I think that Pacy Vallée-d'Eure Football should be renamed to Pacy Ménilles RC and should have its history expanded to reflect the recent years — NickK (talk) 12:26, 21 July 2020 (UTC)
- I can live with that. I'll put it on my list, but I'm backlogged on moves/renames of clubs at the moment so feel free to do it! Gricehead (talk) 12:34, 21 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Gricehead: Done, looks like a normal stub about a lower-league side now — NickK (talk) 13:42, 21 July 2020 (UTC)
