Project Gemini reference[edit]

Surely it's a bit hyperbolic to suggest that project gemini ushered in an era of peace? It constituted a massive escalation of the cold-war space-race, and was in no small part intended to test technologies for seperate military projects related to the arms race. Titan Missile, type changed from V to II[edit]

The Star Trek Encyclopedia does say that the Phoenix was made from a Titan V, however, any quick search will show you the large visual differences bewteen the Titan II and V, the II is what was used in the movie, and is referred to as a missile, the V is not a missile, it is a rocket used to boost payloads. It launches from a pad, not a silo as in the movie. It has a similar fuel tank configuration to the space shuttle, 3 instead of 1, rocket engines.

Titan Missile Museum has a great picture at where you can see the actual silo, just like as seen in "First Contact", and Titan Missile Museum#Tours even mentions that this is what was used to fire the Phoenix from in the movie. And to save time, here's a picture of the Titan V too. --Despayre (talk) 04:05, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect[edit]

Unless this article makes an assertion of notability for this fictional ship, this article should redirect to Star Trek: First Contact. I'll drop in such a redirect in a week or so if no support for GNG comes in. --EEMIV (talk) 02:20, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Andy120290 (talk) 20:08, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
[finally] carrying out the redirect. --EEMIV (talk) 02:33, 31 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
