Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Cannolis (talk) 08:50, 24 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Definition is not reflected in purported dictionary citation

[edit]

The first line of the article defines pollution as the "introduction of contaminants into the natural environment that cause adverse change", and cites the Merriam-Webster online dictionary as the source. However, the dictionary does not define the word that way, even slightly. Such a fundamental statement should be cited correctly. While I am not sure what source is best to use in this case, other definitions available online include "introduction of harmful substances or products into the environment" from dictionary.com. The current citation is inaccurate at best and at potentially dishonest. Let's improve it. Blueskies613 (talk) 15:29, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

There are two definitions given in the body, sourced to the EPA and the UN (I added them a few months ago because there were none). They can be incorporated into the lead. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 21:45, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
