Convent school in Aden

[edit]

The article is incorrect when it states that it was for the education of boys only. Girls were educated there when I was a pupil from 1959 to 1962 when I had to go back to boarding school in the UK. Boys were only educated until the age of 8 years but girls were educated until they were 12 or 13 years of age (as far as I can remember) At play time the girls played in the area between the school and the statue of Mary which was surrounded by railings whilst the boys played between the statue and the entrance to the school. The nuns patrolled the playground to make sure that there was no fraternisation. The Moslems, Jews and Protestant children began school half an hour after the catholic children who had to attend Mass before school commenced. 88.98.100.33 (talk) 16:54, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It was a school for boys up to the age of eight years as well as a girls school up to the age of thirteen years. I was there from 1959 until 1962, when I became eight years old and went back to school in the UK 81.149.149.36 (talk) 17:24, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
